The strain gauges has wires in it which transmits milt electric signals. As soon as pressure is put on the cells, the wires in the strain gauges gets alerted and results in a difference resistance in the current passing in the wires. The same signal from each cell is sent to the junction box and the junction box produces and summed up result to the weighbridge controller. 

The controller then receives a digitized result of the same and it is reflected on the screen. Since many of the weighbridges are moving into the digital era, many weighbridges are readily available which allow easy storing and sharing of data. Even the use of modern machines also allow its users to overlook the process and performance of a weighbridge from a different location. It also provides safety to workers and also flexibility to companies that are installing them for permanent basis.
